1. Start by navigating to your Manage roles page:
2. From the next screen, you can:
a) Create a new role by clicking here:
You will then be asked to create a name for the role, and choose what permissions the role should have. Permissions are granted per module; these modules equate to the audit categories such as NSOC, Catering, Waste etc. Below, I have selected Waste as an example, but the same permissions are available within each category:
Tick all that apply and click Update; the selected permissions will then appear in a second table below the first table.
If you need to, use the Module dropdown to select permissions for a different category and add them to the same role. These will be added to the second table in the same way. When you are happy with all your selected permissions, click Submit at the bottom of the page – if you don’t, your changes will not be saved.
NB: different permissions are available within the Administrate and Reports modules. Be very careful before granting permissions within Administrate especially – you need to be sure that people with the role in question ought to have these permissions.
b) Edit a role by clicking on its name here:
Then follow the same process as in 2 a) above to update the role’s permissions.
c) Assign a role to individual users by clicking Assign here:
This brings up a popup box where users can be assigned the role by clicking the + sign, or unassigned from it by clicking the minus sign:
Be aware of the permissions a role includes before you give someone that role, and make sure they are allowed to have those permissions.
