What are the different organisation types?

An organisation can play various roles within the procurement process. The organisation types and roles have been determined by TED, which have been integrated into the Notice editor implementation.

Let’s take a look at the image below, after you have added an organisation to the form you are ready to decide their role in the procurement process. One organisation can have many roles, so you will be able to select the same organisation in different fields

If an organisation doesn’t have a role in the form, you will be unable to publish, each organisations must have at least ONE role.

Type of the organisations

  • Buyer: Organisation that manages the budget allocated for the procedure and pays for the items being procured

  • Tenderer: Any economic operator at the forefront of work in a Tendering Party

    • Party, or Parties, who has / have submitted his / their tender

    • NB: The Tendering Party may be composed of a single organisation or a grouping of organisations

  • Subcontractor: Organisation that performs parts of the work of a main contractor.

  • Procurement service provider: Economic operator providing procurement services to contracting authorities

  • Other (Review body, Taxation office, Central administration...)

Here's how it operates: To begin, you need to add the organisation and select its type. Once this is done, the organization will become accessible in various dropdown menus within the form. When you choose an organization from one of these dropdowns, you are essentially assigning them a specific role in the process. Depending on the form you are using you will be able to see all 5 organisation types, or less.

Granting a role to an organisation | step by step

In the publication form you will find both mandatory and non-mandatory fields where you can grant a role to the organisations. On these fields you will be able to select the organisations from a dropdown

Be aware that if the organisation that you desired to select is not showing in the dropdown, this is probably happening because the organisation type is not correct, you can edit this in the organisation tab on the left-side menu

After having added an organisation to the form:

  1. Click the field

  2. Select from the dropdown the organisation which will assume that role during the procurement process

The dropdown with the organisation you just added should look like the image below, depending on the conditions of the field one or more organisations will be visible.
