The main water valve shuts off the entire water supply to your apartment or house.
You can usually find it in one of the following places:
In the meter cabinet (near the water meter)
Under the kitchen sink or in a bathroom cabinet
In a basement or storage area, close to where the water pipe enters the home
You can often recognize the main water valve by:
A red or blue lever, or
A round metal handle near the water meter

Consider the following details when reporting a leak:
Where is the leak coming from? What do you think the cause might be?
If applicable, ask your upstairs neighbours whether they also have a leak.
Check the sealant and grout in your bathroom for cracks or damage.
For roof leaks: indicate whether it is a tiled roof or a flat (bitumen) roof.
