Updated over 5 months ago

In October, we were delighted to launch a big update to the platform with the introduction of a new feature: Portfolios. If you haven't had a chance to test it out yet, check out this guide to get started.

This month comes two more exciting updates: Using Portfolios in Projects, and brand new asset options in Projects!

Using Portfolios in a Project makes it quicker and easier to mass deploy assets over hundreds (or even thousands) of buildings that meet your Portfolio’s filter criteria. This is great for creating projects for Solar Together or modelling a neighbourhood transition onto heat pumps and EVs.

Below is a complete summary of December’s updates:

New assets in Projects

The number of assets available in Projects has expanded to include over 40 options, from storage to ground mount PV.

The available list aligns with the assets used by SSEN in their Distribution Future Energy Scenarios and will make it easier to share all the different energy initiatives a local authority is working on.

To access the list, just create a new Project and click ‘Add or remove assets’ to add any of the new technologies to your Project.

Portfolios in Projects

Users can now use their Portfolios in Projects as a quick and easy way to mass deploy assets across a portfolio of buildings that meet your required criteria.

Where available, you can even use recommended asset sizing to customise each deployment based on the recommended asset size for each building. Instructions for this available in Step 5 of this article.

Note: Large portfolios may take some time to load, but we’re working on improvements for faster performance.

Portfolio Enhancements

Dataset columns can now be added to Portfolios without being added as filters. in Portfolio filters - perfect for adding extra insights like Heat Demand or Income.

Additionally, you can now see geospatial filter boundaries in your final Portfolio output.

Data Story Filtering

Data Story creators can now filter datasets added to Data Story maps based on dataset columns. We'll be adding the ability to filter geospatially too in the New Year!

Other small changes

Minor UI improvements and bug fixes (e.g. asset labels in 3D mode are no longer cropped, and X/Y axes are more readable in larger Dashboard graphs.)

As always, you can find ‘how-to’ guides and video guides in the LENZA Knowledgebase, as well as Live Chat support.
