What happens if a share I own is part of a takeover?

Takeovers

A takeover bid is a corporate action in which one company (the acquirer) offers to purchase another company (the target), typically to achieve benefits such as synergy, tax efficiency, or diversification. Takeover bids may be either mandatory or voluntary.

Cash Takeover: The position will be closed once the cash consideration is received at the offer price. Any applicable interest adjustments will depend on the trade contract. The cash proceeds will then be credited to your account.

Stock Takeover: The original position will be closed, and a new position will be created at a price level of zero to reflect the takeover terms.

Cash and Stock Takeover: The original position will be closed, and a new position will be created at a price level of zero to reflect the takeover terms. The cash portion will be credited to your IG account accordingly.
