Huel aims to keep the carbon footprint of every Huel meal below 0.5 kg of CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent), in line with a 1.5°C climate pathway.
How Huel measures its carbon footprint
Huel measures the carbon footprint of all its products using a full life cycle assessment (LCA) approach — covering every stage from ingredient sourcing and farming, through manufacturing, packaging, and delivery to the customer.
How Huel compares to conventional meals
The average Western meal has a carbon footprint significantly higher than 0.5 kg CO₂e. Meat-heavy meals can reach 3–7 kg CO₂e per serving. By choosing Huel for even one or two meals a day, customers can meaningfully reduce their personal carbon footprint without sacrificing nutritional completeness.
Ongoing monitoring
Huel regularly monitors the carbon footprint of all products and continues to look for ways to reduce emissions further as the product range evolves.
