Why was I charged twice?

If you see what looks like a duplicate charge from Huel, there are several common reasons to check. This article applies to customers in the United States.

Common reasons for duplicate Huel charges:

1. Duplicate authorization (bank display issue)

  • Banks may show the same payment twice (for example: one “pending” and one “settled”).

  • The duplicate pending charge usually disappears within a few days.

2. Multiple Huel subscriptions (recurring orders)

  • Check if more than one active Huel subscription exists in the account.

  • Each subscription renews and charges separately.

3. Multiple Huel orders

  • If a one-time Huel order was placed in addition to a subscription, separate charges will appear.

4. Payment retry attempts

  • If an initial payment failed (for example: declined card or insufficient funds), the system may retry.

  • This can result in multiple temporary authorizations.

5. Bank-related error

  • In rare cases, a bank may duplicate a charge.

  • If a duplicate does not disappear after a few days, contact the bank.

What to do next:

  1. Log in to your Huel account: https://www.huel.com/account/login

  2. Go to “My Subscriptions” and review order history.

  3. Check the bank statement to see if one charge is still marked as “pending.”

  4. If both charges have fully settled, gather order number and payment details.

  5. Share the issue with Huel support so the charges can be reviewed and any duplicate refunded.
