The grid is your planning area, so when you print, it only prints what is actually on the grid - if there are items on the gray background around the grid, these will be left out.

You can resize the planning grid to make it large enough for your growing area and/or move items back onto the grid. You can use the Selection tool to move groups of items onto the grid.
