Actual Hours | The staff hours entered in the shifts for each unit. |
Actual Skilled Hours | The hours of staff grades above carer level entered in the shifts for each unit. Compare with '(DepenSys) Skilled Hours'. |
Care Category | Also known as 'Dependency Category'. An indicator of the resident's level of dependency which may be 'R' (residential) or 'N' (nursing) and from categories 1 (lowest) to 6 (highest). Examples are R1, R3, N2, N5 etc. |
CSV | Comma-Separated Values. The CSV button creates a file export of the data on the current screen which can be imported into a spreadsheet e.g. Excel for further analysis. |
Day Ratio | The number of residents per member of staff on day duty, e.g. 1:4.2 = 1 member of staff to 4.2 residents. |
Dependency | The level of need for care. |
Dependency Index | The average number of hours required to care for each resident. This gives a simple comparison between homes and units of the relative dependency. |
DepenSys Hours | The hours calculated by DepenSys as required to meet the residents' needs. |
DepenSys Skilled Hours | See 'Skilled Hours'. |
Diff % @ 95% Occ. | The percentage difference between the DepenSys hours at the current occupancy and 95% occupancy. This allows a 'scaling up' to estimate the staffing required when 95% of the places are filled. If the current occupancy is greater than 95%, this will be a negative figure. |
Diff. Hours / Diff. | The difference between the actual hours and the DepenSys hours. |
Home Dashboard | The overview screen of the home's staffing and dependency data. |
Home Groups | Subdivisions of larger groups of homes into areas and / or managerial responsibility. This feature is not available for small groups. |
Home Summary | A detailed display showing dependency data across the home and each unit, plus the staffing for the whole home and each unit. |
Home Units | The geographical or managerial areas within the home, e.g. 'Ground Floor', 'Willow Unit'. If the home is not divided into units, then one unit of management needs to be created (which can be called ‘Whole Home’, for example). |
Night Ratio | The number of residents per member of staff on night duty, e.g. 1:8 = 1 member of staff to 8 residents. |
Occupancy / Occ. | The number or percentage of beds filled in the home or unit |
Portable Document Format. The PDF button creates a file of the current screen view which can be printed. | |
Skilled Hours / Skilled Hours Req. | The calculated hours of staff grades above carer level. Req = 'Required'. Compare with 'Actual Skilled Hours'. |
TCI | ‘To Come In’ – before a person is admitted, their dependency can be assessed and their details held in a ‘TCI’ list which does not affect the home’s figures. |
