Sending PDFs to Guests via WhatsApp
Operators can attach PDF files directly to WhatsApp messages in the Inbox. No need to switch channels to share a document with a guest.
This is powered by Meta's WhatsApp API, used in Bookboost's direct WhatsApp integration.
How to Send a PDF via WhatsApp
Here's how to attach a PDF to a WhatsApp message:
1. Open the Inbox and select the WhatsApp conversation with your guest.
2. Click the attachment icon in the message composer.
3. Choose a PDF file from your device. PDFs appear alongside images and videos in the file picker.
4. Send the message. The guest receives the PDF directly in the WhatsApp chat.
Note: Meta's file size limits for WhatsApp document attachments still apply.
Common Use Cases
Sending a booking confirmation straight to a guest's WhatsApp
Sharing a hotel information booklet or restaurant menu
Distributing an invoice or receipt after check-out
Good to Know
Only PDF documents are supported. Other file types (e.g. Word, Excel) aren't enabled yet
Standard Meta WhatsApp file size limits for documents still apply
Troubleshooting
I don't see a PDF option in the attachment picker.
PDF attachments are only available in WhatsApp conversations through the direct WhatsApp integration. Check that you're attaching from a WhatsApp chat, not another channel.
My PDF won't send.
Confirm the file is a valid .pdf and check its size against Meta's WhatsApp document limits.
