Adding the unsubscribe token to a template gives guests a way to opt out straight from the message, without landing on the Digital Reception consent page first. It is the shortest opt-out path Bookboost offers, and the one to use in newsletters and other marketing sends.
The token
Add this to your template where you want the link to appear:
{{unsubscribe_link()}}
When a guest follows it, the consents tied to that message or campaign are revoked. There is no preference page to work through and no reservation context needed, which is why it also works for contacts who have no active booking.
Adding it to a template
Open the message or campaign template you want to update, for example a newsletter or a Broadcast email.
Put the cursor where the unsubscribe link should sit. The footer is the usual place.
Insert {{unsubscribe_link()}}.
Save the template.
How this differs from the consent page
The Digital Reception consent page is full preference management: a guest can see every consent they have given and change them individually. The unsubscribe link does one thing instead, quickly.
Use the unsubscribe link in marketing messages, where the guest's intent is simply to stop receiving them. Point guests at the consent page when they need finer control over what they receive.
What this does not do
No preference management. The link handles the opt-out and nothing else. A guest who wants granular control still needs the consent-management page.
It is scoped to that message. It revokes the consents tied to the message or campaign it was sent in, not every consent the guest has ever given.
It has to be in the template. The link is not added automatically. Any template without the token has no unsubscribe link.
What to do next
Add the token to the templates you use for newsletters and other marketing sends, then send yourself a test and follow the link to confirm it behaves the way you expect before the next campaign goes out.
