πŸ”— Static Pages: Sharing Direct Links with Guests

Introduction

Bookboost's Digital Reception allows hoteliers to create web apps and forms to share directly with guests. One of its key features is the ability to generate a Static Page Link β€” a fixed, shareable URL that gives guests instant access to a specific page you've built, without requiring any login or personalisation setup.

This article explains what a Static Page is, how to retrieve its link, and the best ways to share it with your guests.

Main Concept or Feature Explanation

A Static Page is a publicly accessible version of a Digital Reception page that can be shared via a fixed URL. Unlike personalised links (which are tied to a specific guest's reservation), a static link is a general link that anyone with the URL can open.

This makes it ideal for scenarios where you want broad, easy access to content β€” without needing to know in advance who will be clicking on it.

Use Cases

As a hotel, here are common ways you might use a Static Page:

  • 🏨 Share your digital check-in form in a pre-arrival email or WhatsApp message

  • πŸ“‹ Provide access to a guest information page (Wi-Fi, amenities, local tips) via a QR code at reception or in the room

  • πŸ“£ Include a link to a feedback or satisfaction form in a post-stay campaign

  • 🎯 Add a static link to a promotional landing page in a broadcast campaign

  • πŸ’¬ Share a request form (e.g. late checkout, room service) through the Unified Inbox

Configuration and Setup

Follow these steps to retrieve the Static Link for any of your Digital Reception pages:

  1. Go to Digital Reception in the Bookboost platform.

  2. Navigate to Pages and find the page you want to share.

  3. Hover your mouse over the row of that page β€” a set of action icons will appear on the left side of the row.

  4. Click the fourth icon, which looks like a cloud with an upward arrow β˜οΈβ†‘.

  5. A prompt will appear with the option "Get Static Link" β€” click it.

  6. You will see the static link displayed. Copy this link as instructed.

  7. You can now use this link however you need β€” in a message, campaign, QR code, or anywhere else.

Note: Tokens and dynamic links are not supported on static pages. If your page contains any tokens (e.g. personalisation fields like ``), they will not render correctly and will appear as raw placeholder text to your guests.

Before setting up the static page, review your content and choose one of the following options:

  • Remove the tokens β€” replace them with generic text that works for all guests.

  • Duplicate the page β€” keep the original version with tokens intact and create a new token-free copy to use as the static page.

Advanced Setup

Once you have the static link, there are several ways to share it with guests:

  • Via Message (Unified Inbox): Paste the link directly into a conversation with a guest through any connected channel (WhatsApp, email, SMS, etc.).

  • Via Campaign: Include the link in a Journey or Broadcast campaign to send it automatically to guests at the right moment in their stay (taking into account that your desired outcome is not to have the page personalized).

  • Via QR Code: Convert the static link into a QR code using any free QR code generator. Print and display it at reception, in rooms, or on printed materials so guests can scan and access the page instantly.

Known Issues or Limitations

  1. Guest personalisation is not supported with Static Links. Because a static link is a general URL, the system has no way of knowing which specific guest is clicking on it. This means that fields or content that would normally be pre-filled with guest data (such as name, reservation number, or room number) cannot be personalised when using a static link.

  2. If you need a personalised experience β€” for example, pre-filling a form with a guest's details β€” you should use personalised campaign links instead, which are tied to a specific reservation and guest profile.

Conclusion

Static Page Links are a simple and effective way to share your Digital Reception pages with guests at any point in their journey. Whether distributed via messaging, campaigns, or QR codes, they offer instant access to your content without requiring any technical setup from the guest's side. Just keep in mind that static links are general by nature β€” for a tailored, guest-specific experience, personalised campaign links are the way to go. βœ…
