The Care Home are able to add a patient record, and generally it is best practice to encourage the Care Home to add their patients details from the Atlas PCS device however, if the patient has previously been a patient at the home you may be requested to unarchive the record on behalf of the home to avoid duplicating records.

To unarchive a patient record follow this process:

1. View the Care Home dashboard and select the box next to show archived located at the bottom of the Care Home dashboard screen.

2. Locate the patient record and double click the record, the patient name will display in the search box on the Care Home dashboard. Click details to view the record.

3.Select actions located on the patient personal tab and click un-archive patient.

4. Complete all requested information on the RFC Patient Wizard screen, record the name of the person(s) who has made the request in the contact name box and click next. Check the box next to patient archived is not ticked then click finish.

5. The patient record should now display in the active patient list on the Care Home dashboard. Once this process has been completed on CAPA, request the home synchronise the device for the record to display on the device.

Tips

  • If a archived patient has returned to the home and the record has be unarchived on the CAPA system the patients medication however will not be reinstated and will need to be added to the record by the care home or pharmacy.
