There may come a time when, in a care home setting, you may be unable to use our digital system. We understand this and have therefore implemented an option for you on the app to set your current round to paper. Doing this will stop medications FOR THE CURRENT ROUND ONLY prompting as normal and generating missing records.
You will need to be able to log in to be able to do this. If you are unable to log in to your device then you should ignore this guide and contact support staff as soon as possible Monday - Friday 8:00am - 17:30pm. In the event issues occur on the weekends then you will need to raise a ticket with support who will assist as soon as they are able. If your issue is synchronisation related you should keep attempting to sync as these issues can sometimes resolve themselves.
What does “set current round to paper” mean and what do you need to do?
Selecting the 'set current round to paper' from 'options' on the device will result in a change to any medication showing at that time in RED, waiting to be accounted for, to GREEN.
This will set the administration record to display the "D12" code on the MAR indicating “paper MAR used.
Any Paracetamol containing products will require a four hour gap to administer from the time that the round was set to paper.
After you are able or would like to use Atlas eMAR again, you will need to carry out a few of important tasks:
- You will need to complete a full stock take. This is to ensure that all stock totals are completely accurate and to identify if there are any discrepancies that may need reporting to the support team.
- You will need to make sure that you check any non-daily medications next due dates and times. This is also to make sure that everything is correct.
- You will need to make sure that you keep the Paper MAR in a safe and appropriate place to ensure you have accountability for the medication administered as per your homes policy.
Going to paper should be the last resort in any scenario. If we are able to assist you to ensure you do not have to do this then we will.
