Updated this week

There are a few exciting updates in LAEP+ this month! From new data to new features, check out the details below:

New assets in Projects

We’re very excited to announce that the number of assets available to model in Projects has expanded to include over 30 options, from storage to ground mount PV!

The available list aligns with the assets used by Distribution Network Operators (DNO's) in their Distribution Future Energy Scenarios, and will make it easier to model and share your energy initiatives. To access the list, just create a new Project and click ‘Add or remove assets’ to add any of the new technologies to your Project.

New datasets

We’ve added two new datasets this month:

  • ‘Industrial Clusters’

  • ‘Industrial Buildings’

Use these to identify locations of high energy usage and GHG emissions, to highlight areas for shareable renewable potential. You can find them in the ‘Industrials & Emissions’ data folder.

Feature enhancement: uploading data

Have you enriched your LAEP+ experience by uploading local datasets, but now you have too many datasets to keep track of? If so, this update is for you: you can now create sub-categories of data within the local data folder to help organise your uploaded datasets.

Find out how to do it here.

Feature enhancement: Data Stories

When viewing a long Data Story, you may want to skip ahead to a specific section. That’s why we’ve made the dashes that appear below a Data Story (in preview or published mode) clickable, allowing you to click ahead to new sections.

Other small changes

Alongside some general bug fixes and optimisations, we’ve made the following UI changes that you may notice:

  • The local authority boundary colour on the map has changed from blue to purple, to improve visibility. You can still download the ‘Local Authority Boundary’ dataset and further customise the colour of this via the ‘Layers’ tab.

  • The default point size of Portfolio results on the map has been decreased, allowing you to easily differentiate between buildings.

As always, you can find ‘how-to’ guides and video guides in the LAEP+ Knowledgebase, as well as Live Chat support.
