Adding a user individually
To add a new user, click on the Administration Centre and then select the People tab.
Then click 'Add a new user' and this will open up a pop-up window.
Depending on your set-up you may have additional people fields to populate using drop-down options.
Keep the 'Send them an email with login details?' checkbox selected to trigger an email immediately. You can edit the email text here before sending.
If you'd like to update the default email text, go to Configuration > select the 'User Provisioning' tab, then select the 'User Fields' drop down tab.
You can then edit the text in the 'Email templates' section.
Alternatively, you can untick this and send them an email later using the 'send email' tool.
Once you have completed the details click 'Add User'. The user will now be able to access their account and you will see them in your people list.
Tip: Don't send new starters a welcome email to Talos Perform before your IT team has activated their email address. The email will bounce and they may get added to our suppressions list which will stop future emails getting through to them unless manually cleared.
Adding or updating users in bulk via the import tool
To add/update users via the import tool, click on the Administration Centre and then select the People tab.
Then click 'Import / audit users.
This will take you to a new page where you can download and complete a user import template in the required format for upload. The minimum information required to upload users will be the person's email, first name and last name.
Once you've completed the template, remove any columns that you are not using and the row with the column descriptions, leaving the row above with the technical import column headers. Copy and paste all of your data into the box, including the technical import column header row.
Select whether you are using Email or Employee ID as your unique identifier.
Click 'Analyse your data' to generate a table overview of the users that the system has recognised from your pasted table.
Tip: If you'd only like to see new users and updated users in the table, select the 'Show only new and updated rows' checkbox.
Select the users you'd like to add/update or click 'Select X users' at the top to add/update all users in the list.
Tip: If you're updating users' default supervisors in the import, choose whether you'd like to update the review supervisors on in progress reviews to be these new default supervisors by selecting the 'If a user's manager changes, update any in-progress reviews too?' checkbox.
Click the blue 'Add/update selected people' button.
Info: If you're adding new users in the import, you will need to run it once more to assign default supervisors to each user. The initial run creates the user, the second run assigns their default supervisors.
You can also use the import tool to deactivate users in bulk. Either include a column in your import with the heading 'active', where 'true' = 'active' and 'false = 'deactivated'.
Or select the 'Enable deactivate mode?' checkbox which will deactivate the users you paste into the import box.
Tip: Select the 'Show a list of possible leavers?' checkbox to see if there are any active users not included in the data you've pasted into the import box.
