What are infringements? — and severity levels

What are infringements?

A driver infringement is a violation of driving, rest, or working time rules.

It happens when a driver's recorded activity does not meet the legal requirements, such as not taking enough rest or working too many hours in a day.

Infringements are detected automatically from the driver's tachograph data.

Forget manual checks, we spot every issue for you and lay it out clearly.

Some examples of infringements are:

  • Insufficient daily rest

  • Insufficient split daily rest period

  • Daily working time exceeds ten hours, while night work performed

  • Weekly rest inside vehicle

  • Shift start/end countries

Severity levels

The severity level is based on how far the driver's activity deviates from the legal requirement. Severity levels help you quickly understand how significant an infringement is and decide which ones need attention first.

Each infringement is assigned one of these severity levels:

  • Minor: a small deviation from the legal requirement

  • Serious: a moderate deviation from the legal requirement

  • Very serious: a large deviation from the legal requirement

  • Most serious: the most significant deviation from the legal requirement
