What are the benefits of granting smarta Steuerberatung access to my accounting software?

In order for us to prepare your tax return correctly for months, we need all relevant accounting data – specifically for those periods when you were not yet with smarta. The easiest way to do this is to grant us direct access to your accounting programme.

Note: These instructions only apply to periods during which you were not yet a client of smarta Tax Advisory. If you grant us access to your accounting tool, we can retrieve all the information relevant to your tax return. This is standard procedure and you do not need to worry about a thing.

If you prefer not to grant access, we kindly ask you to provide us with all relevant accounting data yourself. Please submit a DATEV export (in the form of one or more accounting batches in CSV format). Keep in mind that all your transactions in your accounting tool must be linked to an invoice and a payment date. Otherwise, the export will be incomplete.

In addition to the export, please upload the following documents to the folder for your tax return for the relevant year during the data collection for the annual financial statement. The questionnaires will inform you about the required documents, such as:

  • Incoming invoices

  • Outgoing invoices

  • Bank statements

  • List of assets from the previous year

You can upload your receipts, invoices, bank statements, and fixed asset register in all common formats, such as PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, CSV, and DOC.

This is the only way smarta Steuerberatung can take all relevant income and expenses into account for your tax return.

How can I grant access?

For lexoffice:

  1. Open Lexware Office and go to “Einstellungen > Benutzer” (Settings > Users)

  2. Click on “+ Steuerberater anlegen” (Add tax advisor)

  3. A form with a prefilled invitation text will open.

    Enter the following details:

  4. Then click on “Einladung versenden” (Send invitation)

  5. As long as we haven’t accepted the invitation yet, you’ll see it listed under “Noch nicht bestätigte Benutzer” (Not yet confirmed users)

  6. Once we’ve accepted the invitation, you’ll find us under “Steuerberater-Zugänge” (Tax advisor access)

For sevDesk:

  1. Go to the "Settings" menu and select "Integrations".

  2. Open the "Invite tax advisor" tile and click "Set up".

  3. Enter the email address sevdesk@smarta-steuern.de.

For Papierkram:

  1. Go to "Settings" and select "Tax Consultant"

  2. Activate access there.

  3. The smarta email address is: papierkram@smarta-steuern.de.

For Fastbill:

  1. Enter your tax consultant’s email address and a password under "Tax Consultant Access" in the basic settings.

  2. Share these login details directly with your tax consultant.

  3. The smarta email address is: fastbill@smarta-steuern.de.
