Release notes – 2026-05-17

This update includes a modernized platform foundation, an improved workflow for cloud processing, and several new features in SkyView.

Future-proofing SkyMap Portal

The extensive platform rewrite of SkyMap Portal has now reached its goal. The platform has been modernized to create a stable foundation for future development and improvements.

This makes it easier to continue developing functionality, improve performance, and respond faster to the needs and requirements of our users.

Improved guide for new cloud processing

The guide for starting a new cloud processing job has been updated with new features and improved workflows.

You will still recognize the overall workflow, but several parts have been improved to make the process easier and more efficient.

It is now possible to:

  • order GCP adjustment with AI-estimated marker positions

  • choose to skip the GCP adjustment step

  • choose between an interactive upload workflow or a simplified image upload workflow

With AI-estimated marker positions, you only need to review and approve the estimated positions before processing to SkyView starts.

This helps reduce the time currently spent on GCP adjustment.

Updated GCP adjustment module

The module previously called Add GCP has been rebuilt from the ground up as part of the platform rewrite.

The updated module includes several highly requested improvements.

It is now possible to:

  • handle large cloud processing jobs more efficiently

  • add and manage clipping polygons directly during GCP adjustment

  • visually review and choose between inner and outer polygons

  • preview the point cloud before processing

  • use a background map directly within the workflow

  • use AI-estimated marker positions for easier GCP adjustment

  • tooggle between if GCP-point shall be GCP or checkpoint.

  • rename a cloud processing job

The new workflow provides better overview, greater control, and more efficient handling of processing data.

Status colors for cloud processing jobs

It is now easier to quickly get an overview of the status of cloud processing jobs directly in the list view.

Each cloud processing job is now displayed with a color based on its current status:

  • Yellow – the process is waiting to start (Pending)

  • Gray – processing is in progress

  • Green – processing is completed

  • Red – something in the processing has failed

This makes it easier to quickly identify which processing jobs require attention.

Display language directly in SkyMap Portal

It is now possible to change the display language directly in SkyMap Portal while logged in.

Previously, you had to log out and select the language during login. Now you can quickly switch language directly within the platform, making it significantly easier to work in multilingual environments or change language when needed.

Improved original photo inspection in SkyView

The feature for inspecting original photos in SkyView has been redesigned and is now available in both the 2D and 3D views.

If ground control points have been used in the project, they are also displayed together with the original photos, making it easier to review and verify the data.

New tool in SkyView – Intersection

SkyView now includes a new intersection tool.

Using a box or surface, you can create intersection of:

  • point clouds

  • models

  • other objects in the scene

The tool makes it easier to visually analyze and inspect data, as well as focus on specific parts of a model or point cloud.

One shared project list

The project list is now combined into one single view, whether you are a Company admin or a Project participant.

You no longer need to choose a role in the menu. Your permissions are applied automatically for each project.

New bottom panel in SkyView

A new bottom panel has been added to SkyView.

The panel displays:

  • active coordinate system

  • project geoid

  • current NEH coordinate when using the Measuring Tool or Design

This provides quick access to important project information directly within the workspace.

Examples of additional improvements

  • Ability to rename cloud processing jobs.

  • Background map available directly within the GCP adjustment workflow.

  • Improved handling of large processing jobs.

  • Improved workflow for AI-based GCP adjustment.

  • Improved display of small text elements in DXF files.

  • New module for managing project transfers.
