Installing the Indoor Camera:

For a complete guide of things to know before set-up, see here.

  1. Tap the ‘Indoor Camera’ tile on the home screen tile in your Sky Protect app.

  2. Plug the indoor camera into the power socket.

3. When the LED on the back of the camera flashes yellow, follow the instructions in the app and enter your Wi-Fi details, you can find these on the back of your router.

4. Under the camera, press and hold the set-up button, until you hear ‘ready to connect’.

5. Scan the QR code that shows on your smartphone’s screen to your Indoor Camera.

6. Once the scan is complete, you’ll hear a confirmation saying “QR code scanned”. If you hear an error message after the QR code has been scanned successfully, there’s more help below.

Good to know: Displaying and scanning the QR Code. While setting up your Indoor Camera, you’ll need to scan an on-screen QR code. Here are some tips to help with that. Make sure the protective film from the camera lens has been peeled off, giving the camera a clear image to read. Check there’s nothing obstructing the QR code, for example a cracked or distorted smartphone screen. The brightness on your smartphone screen should be turned up enough for the QR code to be clearly seen. It works best about 10cm away from your camera lens.

7. Give your Indoor Camera and a name and select the location.

8. Plug the sensor bridge into the back of the camera, you’ll see a solid blue light appear on both the Indoor Camera and the Sensor Bridge.

9. Position your Indoor Camera in the room you’d like to monitor.

Something not working as expected?

If no light appears on your Indoor Camera, please get in touch with our technical support team in-app.

Choosing the right spot

Your Indoor Camera can easily be placed on a flat surface like a worktop or shelf. If you want, you can mount the camera on a wall instead.

You’ll find the metal wall plate and mounting tape you need in the box. Here’s how:

  1. Position your camera no higher than two metres from the ground.

2. Remove the paper film on the mounting tape and stick it to the wall. (This camera is designed to be used only with the supplied 1.8-metre cable.)

3. Now place the metal wall plate on the mounting tape and press firmly.

4. You’re ready to pop the camera onto the magnetic mounting plate. Finally, before mounting the position, check the live stream and make sure you’re happy with the view on your phone screen.
