Unfortunately, users may have already found a family or babysitter to work with and therefore might not take the time to respond to your message. We notify everyone who receives a message by e-mail. We will also send a reminder e-mail after two days if the user has not yet responded.

If these users have not logged in for a while, our system will automatically disable them from our database. Unfortunately, there is not much more we can do and we do apologise for this inconvenience. Every week, thousands of new members register on Sitly, so we suggest you continue to send messages.

In addition to this, we send you weekly emails every Monday to inform you about new users who match your criteria. If you want, you can change this to daily alerts in your profile settings.

This will make you the first to know about new people who register in your neighbourhood.

Useful tips to receive more replies from parents

Do you know how important the information in the first message is? Your first message is what determines whether users choose to respond to you or not. We would like to offer you some tips and tricks so that you can receive answers faster. You can use the ones you think are necessary:

  1. The messages must be adapted to each family. Your message should capture the attention of the parents immediately. Parents will only view your profile if the message is interesting to them. A generic and impersonal message has very little chance of contact and response. Adapt the message to each offer. Explain your experience and how you can help their children specifically. Use your extra skills: maybe you speak a second language, have computer skills, expressions, painting and arts, and any other skill that can complement the care of children.

  2. If you are certain you want to work for this family, you can leave your email address and your contact phone number in your message. This makes it easier for the parents to contact you.

  3. Give them some time to respond. It is important for you to know, that everyone who receives a message from a babysitter also receives an e-mail from Sitly, saying they have a new message waiting for them. They will be reminded of this message after a few days, as well.

  4. Get references from families with whom you have previously worked. If you access the application of your profile, you can find a tool to generate customized links that can be sent to those families via WhatsApp, SMS or FB Messenger. By obtaining references you will come across as more trustworthy because other parents have recommended you.

  5. You can see the last login date of every profile. This could help you to know if the parents logged into their profile on Sitly after you sent your message.

  6. When a parent answers that she/he is not available, it means they are not interested in your offer. Most likely, your profile does not match their search criteria.
