How do I integrate with Dentally?

Connecting Denplan's dental finance with Dentally

Integrating Denplan's dental finance with Dentally lets you see your patients’ information directly in Denplan, so you can focus less on admin and more on care.

Step 1: Make sure you’re an admin in both Dentally and the dental finance platform

To set up this integration, you’ll need admin access in both systems:

  • Dentally admin → to generate the personal token.

  • Denplan admin → to add the token and save the integration.

If you’re missing admin rights in either system, please ask someone on your team who has them.

Step 2: Generate your personal token in Dentally

  1. Log in to Dentally.

  2. Go to SettingsDeveloper.

  3. Click Generate a new token.

  4. Give the token patient:read permissions (and no others).

    • This keeps your data sharing limited to just what’s needed today.

    • If we release new features that require different permissions, you’ll need to generate a new token. We’ll let you know if that happens.

  5. Copy the token that Dentally generates.

Step 3: Add your token to the dental finance platform

  1. In the platform, Go to Settings Integrations.

  2. Paste your Dentally token into the field that says Enter Dentally personal token.

  3. Click Save & connect.

That’s it — you’re connected!

What happens next

Once connected, you’ll be able to search your Dentally patient list directly from the dental finance platform when sending out a treatment guide.

When you select a patient, Denplan will automatically fill in their personal details, saving you time and keeping everything consistent with Dentally.

Keeping your token active

Dentally tokens only stay active if they’re used.

  • Use the Dentally integration at least once every 14 days. If it isn’t used in Denplan for two weeks, the token will expire.

  • If it expires, you’ll need to set it up again. That means generating a new token in Dentally and reconnecting it in Denplan.

  • Tokens follow the creator. If the Dentally user who created the token is made inactive in Dentally, the integration will stop working too.
