We’re excited to introduce Bring Your Own Emission Factors (BYOEF) as a new calculation method for Capital goods (S3C2) and Waste generated in operations (S3C5)
BYOEF allows you to upload your own emission factors to the Plan A Sustainability Platform and use them in emissions calculations. You can combine these factors with activity data to ensure your emissions calculations reflect the most relevant and accurate data for your organisation.
This feature is particularly useful if:
Your organisation has developed custom emission factors or worked with a consultant to create industry-specific methodologies.
You want to use emission factors from external databases or supplier-specific data for more precise calculations.
Plan A does not test or verify the emission factors you upload. It is your responsibility to ensure they align with reporting requirements and regulatory standards. We recommend maintaining documentation of your methodologies and sources to support transparency and auditability.
