We’ve introduced the Cloud calculation method under Purchased goods and services (S3C1).

This update allows you to measure the environmental impact of cloud use (compute, memory, storage, networking and unknown usage types) by incorporating electricity use, embodied hardware emissions, data centre overhead, water use, and replication factors. The calculation method currently cover AWS, GCP, and Azure.

To calculate emissions, you’ll need to consult your cloud usage reports and gather usage data, service type, usage types, and measures.
