Once you have completed uploading all relevant data for in-scope emission categories, you can begin to think about analysing your emissions hotspots and their sources as well as communicating your organisation's Corporate Carbon Footprint, or emissions report.

You can generate a Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) report at the push of a button from the 'Report emissions' tab. Available in PDF or PowerPoint format, this narrative report is designed to be shared with stakeholders, allowing you to effectively communicate your company's carbon footprint through data-driven insights on your emissions across all scopes, categories, and facilities.

What is covered in the report?

The CCF report aims to bring your stakeholders along the sustainability journey whilst emphasising why calculating, reporting, and reducing your company's carbon footprint is important and ensuring broad relevance and understandability. The core sections include:

Why Carbon Accounting and Decarbonisation Matter

This section frames your business' carbon accounting project within the context of the green transition which is underway, as well its purpose in both mitigating financial and non-financial risks and unlocking strategic opportunities, emphasising the business case for sustainability.

Carbon Footprint Analysis

This section introduces your company size and structure, introduces stakeholders to the GHG Protocol, and your in-scope emission categories, before diving deep into your emissions. It includes:

  • An executive summary

  • Year-over-Year trends

  • An overview by facilities

  • An overview of Scope 1 & 2

  • An overview of Scope 3

Next Steps

This section contextualises carbon accounting with your organisation's broader sustainability journey, introducing your stakeholders to decarbonisation planning as a next step. It also emphasises carbon accounting as a continual process which requires scaling and improvement for success.

Appendix

This sections presents an introduction to the GHG Protocol scopes and provides links to methodological notes, which explain how Plan A calculates emissions.

Customising your report

Download the report as a PDF for easy sharing as it is, or as a customisable PowerPoint file which you can further personalise to your business' specific situation and interests in order to ensure you successfully engage your stakeholders.

For instance you might:

  • Edit text or insert extra slides to directly connect sustainability and your CCF with your company’s specific context, such as strategic goals, KPIs, industry trends, and competitive landscape

  • Add extra detail on your emissions hotspots, for example, by exporting data from the platform and linking this data directly to the slides (see instructions for PowerPoint or Google Slides)

  • Tailor the presentation to different internal audiences (e.g. focussing on financial risks and strategic opportunities for leadership presentations, or highlighting engagement opportunities and promoting a sustainable workplace culture for employee presentations)
