When using an Osprey charging station, there is a pre-authorisation fee of £25 or £45 that is reserved on your account. This depends on what charging station is being used. The pre-authorisation amount is taken at the start of each charging session. We take this to ensure there are enough funds to charge .
The pre-authorisation fee is included within the charging session. For example, if your pre-authorisation fee is £25 and your charging session costs more than £25, we keep this fee and charge the additional cost on top. If your charging session costs less than £25, we will refund the difference in cost.
For £45 pre-authorisations on all our other chargers, the maximum charge cost is £45, so the charge is not able to go over this amount. If the charge costs less, then the difference in cost is returned.
The refunded amount usually takes a few working days to clear but, this can take longer depending on whom you bank with.
If you have concerns, please contact your bank directly.
