How long does it take for the pre-authorisation to return?

When using an Osprey charging station, there is a pre-authorisation fee of £45 that is reserved on your account. The pre-authorisation amount is taken at the start of each charging session. We take this to ensure there are enough funds to charge.

The pre-authorisation fee is included within the charging session. For example, if your pre-authorisation fee is £45 and your charging session costs more than £45, we keep this fee and charge the additional cost on top. If your charging session costs less than £45, we will refund the difference in cost.

The refunded amount usually takes a few working days to clear but, this can take longer depending on whom you bank with.

If you have concerns, please contact your bank directly.
