Warehouses and stock levels (early access)

Where stock lives in Inventory — how Warehouses hold stock per-Product, how to read current stock levels, and how to review a Product's stock history. Inventory is an early-access feature.

Overview

Warehouses are where stock lives. Every Product has a stock level per Warehouse, so Inventory always reflects not just how much you have, but where it is. This article covers reading stock levels and reviewing how they got there.

🚀 Early Access: Inventory is an early-access feature and may not be enabled for your account. Contact Mobaro Support to request access.

Why this matters: "Do we have it, and is it where we need it?" is the question Inventory exists to answer. Per-Warehouse stock means you can tell at a glance whether a part is in the right place — or needs transferring before a job.

How stock is held

  • Stock is tracked per Product, per Warehouse — the same Product can have different quantities in different Warehouses.

  • A Product's total on hand is the sum of its stock across all Warehouses.

  • Stock changes only through adjustments, transfers, and requisition fulfilment — each leaving a record.

View stock levels

By Warehouse

Open a Warehouse to see the Products held there and their current quantities — the answer to "what's in this location right now?"

By Product

Open a Product to see where its stock sits across your Warehouses — the answer to "where is this item, and how much is in each place?"

Review stock history

Each Product has a stock history — a record of how its quantities have changed over time, across adjustments, transfers, and requisition fulfilment. Use it to answer "why did this number change?" and to trace a discrepancy back to the action that caused it.

Best practice: When a count doesn't match the system, check the Product's stock history before adjusting. The discrepancy often traces to a transfer or fulfilment that explains the gap — and tells you whether an adjustment is even the right fix.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why is a Product's stock different in two Warehouses?
A: That's expected — stock is held per Warehouse. Each location's quantity is independent; transfers move stock between them.

Q: How do I change a stock level?
A: Not by editing the number directly — use an adjustment, transfer, or requisition so the change is recorded. See Adjusting and transferring stock.

Q: Which Warehouses do I see?
A: The Warehouses set up for your account during setup. If one's missing, contact Mobaro Support to add it.
