My Mill Convection Heater turns off before it reaches the desired room temperature. What do I do?

Updated over a month ago

There may be discrepancies between the temperature registered by the heater and the actual temperature where you are located in the room.

There can be several reasons for this, but the most common one is that the heater is placed some distance away from where you typically spend time in the room. For example, when you set the desired temperature to 22°C, it’s natural to expect that this is the temperature you want where your sofa is placed. However, the temperature sensor is located on the heater itself, which can lead to such discrepancies.

To adjust for this, all Mill heaters with electronic thermostats are equipped with calibration features, meaning you can adjust the temperature the heater registers.

To calibrate the heater, you can do it via the app or on the heater itself:

Via the app:

  • Open the Mill Norway app and go to Settings in the bottom right corner.

  • Tap on Calibration.

  • Select the device you want to calibrate.

  • Enter the temperature you read from a separate temperature sensor placed, for example, on a table or mounted at chest/shoulder height in the room.

TIP: Place a separate temperature sensor in a central location in the room or on the wall at chest/shoulder height for 24 hours before calibrating. The sensor needs time to display an accurate reading. Avoid placing the external sensor directly above a heat source, as this will affect the temperature reading.

Via the device:

Refer to your product’s user manual for instructions on how to calibrate the temperature, as the method may vary by model.

Note: Heaters with mechanical thermostats cannot be calibrated.
