Stairwell in Common Areas
May I place items in the stairwell or on the landing?
To ensure fire safety and keep all emergency exits clear, the stairwell and landings must remain completely unobstructed at all times.
It is therefore not allowed to store items here, such as bicycles, furniture or shoe racks.
Why this is important
In case of fire or another emergency, everyone must be able to evacuate quickly and safely.
Emergency services need unhindered access.
Keeping the stairwell clear is also a legal requirement.
If you notice neighbors leaving items there
Kindly speak to the tenant(s)
Explain that the stairwell must remain clear for everyone’s safety.
If the problem continues, report it to LIV Residential
