How AI Notes works

Description: Record a meeting or import an audio file, and get a transcript and a summary to use in Ask Lexroom.

Written by Lexroom

AI Notes lets you record a meeting with a client, or import an audio file, and get a transcript and a summary you can use as context in Ask Lexroom.

In this article:

  • Open AI Notes and accept the terms

  • Import an audio file

  • Record a meeting

  • What happens after you save

  • Name the speakers

  • Use the Note in Ask Lexroom

Open AI Notes and accept the terms

In the sidebar, click AI Notes. Only the first time, Lexroom asks you to accept the terms and conditions for this feature. You only need to do this once.

Import an audio file

If you already have a recording, you can upload it. The file can be up to 200 MB.

  1. In AI Notes, click Import.

  2. Select the audio file.

  3. Lexroom creates the transcript and the summary.

Record a meeting

  1. In AI Notes, click New recording.

  2. Before you start, tell your client that the meeting will be recorded.

  3. Start the recording.

  4. If you need to, you can leave the recording running in the background and use other parts of Lexroom in the meantime.

  5. When the meeting ends, click End & Save.

If the recording stops (for example, because you leave Lexroom or lose your connection), you don't lose the audio. When you come back, the recording is paused and you can resume from where you left off.

To start faster, click the + next to AI Notes in the sidebar. The recording starts right away and the Note gets a name automatically. Lexroom still reminds you to tell your client that the meeting will be recorded.

What happens after you save

When you save, Lexroom starts the transcript and the summary. When they are ready, Lexroom sends you a notification. Open the Note to read them.

Name the speakers

Lexroom recognizes the different voices in the meeting. You can assign a name to each speaker, and it is applied automatically to the whole transcript. Names only apply to that Note.

Use the Note in Ask Lexroom

In the Note, click Ask Lexroom in the top right to use it as context for your questions.
