Reporting Content

Jodel works best when it feels open, kind, and real. If something crosses the line, hit Report.

Updated this week

Reporting is a core part of upholding/maintaining safety on Jodel. You are helping keep your local feed safe.

When to report

Report anything that:

  • Targets, bullies, or harasses someone

  • Shares sexual or exploitative material, especially involving minors

  • Shows or encourage Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) or grooming

  • Makes credible threats of violence or self-harm

  • Promotes scams, illegal activity, or harmful misinformation

  • Spams or clutters your feed, even after you mute or block

(See Jodel's Community Guidelines for the full list)

CSE is always an emergency. If you see anything that could involve CSE or harm to a child, report it straight away using the Child Safety or Emergency option.

How to report

In the app:

  • Tap the ⋯ on the post or message

  • Select Report abuse

  • Choose a reason

  • Tap Report and you will receive confirmation

Risk of harm (self-harm, violent threats, child safety / CSE) are considered emergencies and go straight to our team for review, usually within an hour.

What happens next

After you report content, it is hidden from your feed while we review it.

Moderators will look at every report and decide on blocking or allowing the reported content. More information, including median time to resolution, can be found in transparency reports.

If you think the decision on a post was wrong, you can appeal.

Your controls

  • Hide. Hide posts do not want to see

  • Report. If you see content against community guidelines

  • Appeal. If you believe there was a mistake, send an appeal. We aim to respond within 72 hours.

If things feel heavy

Take a break, mute or block early, and do not reply to harassment.

If someone talks about self-harm, report it as Risk of harm.

External organizations might provide support. A directory can be found here.
