Administrative tasks to be completed for newly onboarded patients

This short help guide walks you through a few administrative tasks to be completed for newly registered patients in Huma

There are a few key administrative tasks to be completed for newly onboarded patients in the Huma Clinician Portal.

1. Adding a surgery date

If your configuration of Huma is for surgery, you will also need to add the surgery date in the patients profile in the Clinician Portal.

The surgery date is key to setting up the patients app correctly. Tasks and activities are anchored on the surgery date. Patients can expect push notifications from the Huma app to remind them on tasks due before their surgery and after their surgery. It's therefore imperative to add the surgery date as soon as it is known.

To add the surgery date, simply do the following:

  • Navigate to the patient of interest

  • Click on the 'patient's name'

  • Click on the patients 'profile'

  • Navigate to the 'surgery date' field and click on the 'edit' button

  • Click on the 'calendar' icon to bring up the date selector and set your surgery date

  • Once done, click on the 'tick' button to save your changes

  • A push notification will appear to confirm you have successfully updated the patients profile!

  • You can always edit and change surgery dates too

  • Click on the 'edit' button, make your changes and click on the 'tick' button to save the new updated date

2. Adding 'Labels' to a patient

We also advise adding any applicable 'Labels' to the patient at this time. You will find a stock set of labels such as the following:

  • Waitlist

  • Pre-Op

  • Post-Op

  • Inpatient

  • Readmission

For new patients, select the appropriate label and update during the course of the patients surgical journey i.e. Waitlist for patients with no surgery date, Pre-Op for patients with a surgery date etc.

Fore more information on 'Labels' and how to create your own labels, click on the following help guide:

3. Assigning patients to clinicians

Clinicians will want to focus on patients directly under their care and can filter patients directly assigned to them by clicking 'My patients'.

If patients have not been assigned correctly, clinicians will not be able to view all patients directly under their care in the Huma Portal. You also won't be able to see a list of clinicians and patients assigned / under their care - useful for administrative purposes.

To assign a patient to a clinician, simply do the following:

  • Navigate to the patient of interest

  • Click on the three dot / additional options menu (...)

  • Click 'assign clinician'

  • Click the tickbox of the relevant clinician(s) to assign the patient to and click the 'Assign clinicians' button

  • A push notification will appear to confirm you have successfully assigned the patient!
