With the latest release of the Huma Clinician Portal (v1.24), we have retired 'Status' and replaced this with 'Labels'.
Introducing Labels!
With the new Labels function, you can now create and assign custom 'Labels' to patients. Useful for categorising and filtering patients, labels will display on the 'Patient list' but also within the individual 'Patient Dashboard'.
You can assign and remove Labels on individual patients and can have multiple Labels assigned to a patient.
If you used the old 'Status' feature prior to this release, don't worry - all 'Statuses' have been migrated over as 'Labels' in the update.
Example use case
Let's say you are using a peri-op configuration of Huma. You may want to create the following labels to group up patients in different stages of their surgical journey. You could use the following:
Waitlist
Pre-op
Inpatient
Post-op
Readmission
Furthermore, labels offer a level of flexibility beyond what ‘Status’ did, in that you can use labels to classify patients in multiple different ways. For example, in addition to classifying a patient by status as above, you could also have a set of labels for patient class (inpatient, day case, etc.) or special accommodations (needs interpreter, primary language, etc.) and sort/filter based on multiple labels.
Roles & permissions for Label management
Whilst all Clinician Portal users can view Labels created and assigned to patients, to be able to create or edit Labels, you must have the correct permissions assigned to your role.
A new permission has been created specifically for creating & editing Labels, called 'Manage labels'. This must be toggled on.
If you are unable to add or edit Labels or unsure if you have the right permissions, please contact Huma's Customer Care Team by email or Live Chat (via the messaging icon in the lower righthand corner of the page).
