Onboarding patients to Huma is simple and can be down through two key methods:
SMS Text Message
Email
We strongly recommend you onboard patients through SMS Text message (and use the Invite Email as a secondary onboarding method).
The SMS Text message function is preferred due to the following reasons:
Patients who don't have an email address can sign up to Huma
Patients who don't have access to email on their smartphone can sign up to Huma
Onboarding through SMS Text message has less onboarding steps for patients
Patients are not required to set a password
How do I access the Patient invite functionality?
Once you have logged into the Huma Clinician Portal and clicked on a patient list, do the following:
Navigate to the top right hand corner of the screen, click on your name and scroll over 'Invite patients'
You will see two options appear
Email invite
SMS invite
1. How do I invite patients to Huma through SMS Text Message?
Continuing from the above, click on 'Invite SMS' then do the following:
Enter the patients: a) first and last name and b) mobile number
Click on confirm
You are presented with a final confirmation screen to show you the SMS Text message that will be sent to the patient and for you to check that the number is correct
Once you are happy to proceed, click on Send SMS invite

Done! You will see an on screen notification to tell you that the invite SMS has been sent to the patient
2. How do I invite patients to Huma through Email?
Continuing from the above, click on 'Invite Email' then do the following:
Enter the patient's Email address and tap the enter key on your keyboard to confirm the email address
You can invite multiple patients at once by entering more than one email address or by using the import CSV file feature
Once done, click on 'Send invites'
Done! You will see an on screen notification telling you that the invite Email has been sent to the patient
TIP! - All patients who have not yet created their Huma app account are sent an automated chaser invite email 24 hours prior to the invite expiring to encourage sign up!
How to monitor pending patient invites
