Recipient fields are custom fields your team fills in about each person they send a gift to. An Admin sets them up on the Teams page. Everything your team enters shows in Gift history and in the report you download.
💡 Why it matters
Gift links get passed around over Slack and email, so a gift is easy to lose track of. A recipient field makes sure the detail you need is captured at the point of sending.
You choose what that detail is. A name, a department, a cost centre, or anything else you need to account for later.
✏️ What your team sees
Your team fills the fields in as they send, whether they send one gift at a time, upload a bulk CSV, or share a link. If you turn Required on, they fill it in before the gift goes out.
Your recipients never see these fields. They are for your records only.
📊 How they differ from reason codes
Both live on the Teams page and both feed your reporting, but they record different things. A reason code says why a gift was sent, and your team picks from a list you set. A recipient field records something about the person receiving it, and you choose whether your team types free text or picks from a dropdown. You can use both. See Managing your team and subteams for reason codes.
📋 Setting one up
Only Admins can set up Recipient fields. To set one up:
Go to the Teams tab, in the left-hand menu of your dashboard.
Scroll to Recipient fields, at the bottom of the page.
Click Add field.
Name the field, for example "Employee name" or "Department".
Choose a field type: Text, Dropdown (pick one), or Dropdown (pick many).
For either dropdown, type each option into Add an option and click Add. Repeat for every option you want to offer.
Turn Required on if your team must fill the field in. It is off by default.
Under Apply to, choose which teams the field applies to. Your current team is already selected.
Click Save.
Each field you add shows in the list below, with its type, whether it is required, and how many teams it applies to.
