Two-step verification adds an extra check when you log in. After your password, you enter a 6-digit code sent by text message or generated by an authenticator app. It's free, and you can turn it on for yourself or require it across your whole team.
💡 Why it matters
Two-step verification stops someone getting into your account with just your password. Even if a password leaks, they'd still need the second code to log in. It's included as standard, at no extra cost.
🔒 How it works
After your password, Huggg asks for a 6-digit code. You choose how you get it when you set up two-step verification: by text message, or from an authenticator app. You can add both, and use whichever is easiest at the time.
Text message codes work for UK mobile numbers only. If your number isn't UK-based, use an authenticator app instead, an app like Google Authenticator or Authy that generates a new code every 30 seconds.
Tick Remember this device and that browser or device skips the code for 30 days. A new device always asks again.
📋 Setting it up
To turn on two-step verification for your own account:
Go to your account settings and choose Two-step verification.
Pick text message or authenticator app. For text message, enter your mobile number and confirm it with a code. For an authenticator app, scan the QR code shown on screen.
Save the backup codes you're given somewhere safe. You'll need them if you lose access to your phone.
Huggg asks for your 6-digit code each time you log in, unless you've marked the device as remembered.
⚙️ Requiring it across your team
Admins can require two-step verification for the whole team. Go to the Teams tab, in the left-hand menu of your dashboard, and turn on the toggle. Anyone who hasn't set it up yet is asked to at their next sign-in.
This doesn't apply if your team logs in with single sign-on (SSO). SSO is managed by your identity provider, and two-step verification sits outside it.
