Adding funds: How the Huggg Wallet works

An overview of the Huggg Wallet: Learn how to fund your gifting via credit card or bank transfer, and how "Pay at Checkout" works.

Updated this week

What is the Huggg Wallet?

Every Huggg account features a digital Wallet. Think of this as your dedicated gifting budget. When a gift is purchased, the funds are drawn from your wallet balance to generate your gift links.

How to fund your gifts

The Huggg Wallet is great for central budgeting, but you can always pay as you go at the checkout if you prefer. You have three simple ways to ensure your wallet has the funds needed to send gifts:

1. Pay at Checkout

If you prefer not to hold a balance in your wallet, you can simply pay as you go. At the end of the gifting journey, you will be prompted to pay for your gifts via credit or debit card.

2. Top up via Card

You can add funds to your wallet at any time using a credit or debit card. This is ideal if you want to set a specific budget for the month. Simply head to the 'Wallet' tab and click 'Top up'.

3. Top up via Bank Transfer

For larger amounts or departmental budgets, you may prefer to top up via bank transfer. Click 'Top up' in the 'Wallet' tab and select 'Bank Transfer' to view our payment details.

  • Important: You must include your unique HG reference number as the payment reference so we can identify your payment.

  • Timing: CHAPS transfers usually arrive within 24 hours; BACS transfers typically take 3-5 working days.

Tracking your balance

You can see your available wallet balance at any time in the left-hand sidebar of your dashboard. For a detailed breakdown of every transaction, check your Gift history.

Note: Funds in your wallet do not expire, but individual gift links are typically valid for one year from the date of purchase.
