Huggg Budgets let you allocate a set amount of gifting spend to teams or individuals, so they can send gifts without approval delays. Useful for keeping costs predictable while giving people the freedom to recognise others in the moment.
β
π‘ Why budgets matter
Budgets help you manage costs, avoid overspend, and let teams recognise contributions without admin overhead. They're a useful structure for running consistent recognition or rewards programmes.
β
π οΈ How to set one up
Go to Budgets in the navigation and click Create a budget to start. The setup walks you through eight steps.
Decide who needs a budget. Choose who should be able to send gifts: managers, customer-facing teams, or everyone in your organisation.
Create the budget. Click Create a budget in the Budgets section and give it a clear, recognisable name.
Set the amount. Choose whether everyone gets the same amount, and how much each participant receives per period (for example, Β£100).
Set when budgets are received. Add a start date and the date of the second and ongoing payments.
Decide how budgets refresh. Choose whether unused budget rolls over into the next period or resets to zero.
Add gifting reasons. Set the reasons people can select when sending a gift, such as "Say thank you" or company values like kindness or honesty.
Add participants. Invite the people who should receive the budget. Once added, they'll be allocated their budget automatically.
Review and publish. Check the programme details and invitation email, then click Publish to make the budget live.
π After budgets are live
Participants receive an email invite and can access the app.
If they're part of multiple programmes, they can switch between budgets in the app.
They can send gifts as normal, either choosing a specific gift or letting the recipient choose.
You can edit participants, settings, or managers at any time.
β οΈ Things to know
Budgets don't auto-allocate. You need to set them up per team or person.
Tracking redemption helps you see whether budgets are being used.
β Common questions

What happens if there aren't enough funds?
If your wallet balance is too low, the required amount is taken from the card on file automatically.
Can I change a budget after it's live?
Yes. You can update amounts, participants, and settings at any time.
Can one person have multiple budgets?
Yes. If someone is part of multiple programmes, they can switch between budgets in the app.
