Customise your appointments

Hero allows you to make appointments available online to your patients, however it is import that the information provided to patients is clear and informative. For this reason Hero allows you to customise the content of your appointment to fit your needs.

1 - Appointment Details

In details your can change the name and add a description of the appointment to make it clear to patients what they are booking.

Tip: Avoid abbreviations or acronyms when naming appointments

You can also select if the appointment is a face to face of via video, find out more about video appointments.

In the appointment details you can add Service Categories to make it easier for patients to find the right appointment, to set up Service categories check out this article.

2 - Online booking

The online booking section allow you to apply restrictions to appointments when they are being booked via a website.

Show on location booking pages - this will control if the appointment is visible via the online booking portal

Who can book the appointment online - this restriction based on Select patient profiles allow you to restrict based on sex and age, find out more about appointment restrictions

3 - Guidance Messaging

Guidance messaging allow your to provide added information during and after the booking journey

Before you book - this information is displayed to the patient before they can confirm their appointment.

Tip: This is a good opportunity to inform patients to only book if they are eligible for the appointment

Need to know - this information is displayed to the patient 3 times, on the confirmation page as soon as they book; in the confirmation email they receive; and in the reminder email the patient received 24 hour before their appointment.

4 - Forms

Hero allow you to attach a pre-booking form to an appointment that the patient must complete before they confirm their appointment, find out more about Hero Forms

5 - Locations

Locations will allow you to restrict where appointments are available, please note we only recommend changing this if you are making appointments available online.
