Hero has chosen instant transfers as the standard for bank transactions: whenever possible, Hero initiates your transfer as an instant transfer. These transfers are free within the limits of your Hero plan.
Conditions for sending an instant transfer
You don’t need to follow a specific process or select an option in the app to send an instant transfer from your Hero account. Instant transfers are the default for all Hero users.
However, in some cases or under specific conditions, bank transfers may be processed as standard transfers (i.e., within 2 to 3 business days). This may happen if:
The recipient's bank is not compatible with instant transfer technology or does not use the TARGET Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS) service (some institutions rely solely on the older RT1 service). For more details, you can check the recipient bank's website or contact them directly.
The type of recipient account is incompatible with instant transfer technology. This can occur with accounts that are not standard checking accounts, such as term deposit accounts.
The interbank platform for processing instant payment flows is temporarily down or undergoing maintenance.
The sender’s profile is under review by our transaction security team or our banking partner’s services.
