The revert flow improves how rejected transfers are handled when a VASP receives an asset deposit together with a Travel Rule message that cannot be accepted.
In this scenario, the funds must be sent back to the originator, which requires a new Travel Rule message. The revert flow supports this process by enabling a structured and compliant return of funds. Counterparties can now receive TAP messages for reverts and explicitly authorize the transfer before funds are sent back.
