What percentage of Huel packaging is made from recycled materials?

Explains Huel's packaging recyclability and recycled content stats, including 85% recyclable by volume and 51% rPET in RTD bottles.

Around 85% of Huel's packaging (by volume) is recyclable. Huel is also actively increasing the proportion of recycled materials used in its packaging.

Recyclable packaging

85% of Huel's total packaging volume is recyclable, including bottles, cartons, and outer boxes. Huel's powder pouches are the main exception — they are lightweight but not currently recyclable — and Huel is actively reviewing alternatives.

Recycled content

Huel's ready-to-drink bottles are made with 51% recycled plastic (rPET). Using recycled PET reduces the demand for virgin plastic and lowers the carbon footprint of the packaging itself.

Pouch development

Huel's powder pouches are currently the least recyclable component of its packaging lineup. Huel is exploring more sustainable pouch materials that can maintain the barrier properties needed to protect product quality and prevent food waste — which is itself a significant sustainability concern.

Ongoing improvement

Huel's packaging sustainability targets are reviewed regularly as new materials and recycling technologies become available. Improving recyclability and recycled content is a key part of Huel's broader sustainability roadmap.
