What innovations is Huel working on to improve sustainability in 2025 and beyond?

Outlines Huel's sustainability innovation priorities for 2025 and beyond, including regenerative sourcing, packaging development, and carbon reduction.

Written by Jamie Forbes

Huel's sustainability innovation pipeline focuses on three main areas: regenerative sourcing, packaging improvement, and ongoing carbon footprint reduction.

Expanding regenerative sourcing

A key focus for Huel is scaling its regenerative agriculture program. Huel currently sources regenerative oats through a partnership with Gentle Farming in the UK and is committed to expanding regenerative sourcing across additional key ingredients as programs scale and new partnerships become viable.

Packaging innovation

Huel is exploring new packaging materials and technologies to make its packaging more sustainable without compromising product safety or shelf life. This includes reviewing pouch materials — currently Huel's least recyclable packaging format — to find alternatives that maintain performance while reducing environmental impact.

Continued carbon reduction

Huel continues to reduce the carbon intensity of its products in line with a 1.5°C climate pathway. This involves working with ingredient suppliers on lower-emission farming practices and identifying further efficiencies in manufacturing and logistics.

Accessible sustainable nutrition

Underpinning all of Huel's sustainability innovation is a commitment to keeping products accessible. Huel's goal is to make sustainable nutrition the most convenient and affordable choice — not a premium one.
