The Figo TravelCard is a Digital-First corporate payment card for mobility expenses and business travel, powered by Adyen and running on the Mastercard or Visa network. It works like a 100% configurable debit or credit card and can be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — no physical card needed, though a physical card is available on request.
Employees use it to pay for transport and mobility expenses via Apple pay or Google pay, or using the credit card codes in mobility apps such as uber or parking apps.
Admins control exactly what can and cannot be spent, at organisation, department, or individual level and on what limit spends. The TravelCard is fully independent from the NS Business Card, however both can be used for public transport, but via different systems.

Which categories are available to you depends on your organisation's setup. Not sure what you can use your card for? Check with your HR department or ask Figo.
How to activate your Travel Card (Employee)
If your organisation has given you access to a TravelCard, you will see it in the Figo app. From there you can activate the card directly. Once activated, add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet to start using it straight away.
Your organisation may have the TravelCard enabled by default, or it may need to be turned on per employee. If you don't see the card in the app, contact your HR department.
Digital-first: Apple & Google Wallet (Employee)
The TravelCard is primarily digital. Once activated, add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and use it immediately. For public transport in the Netherlands, simply tap your phone or smartwatch at the OVpay check-in post.
A physical card is available on request, for example for employees who travel internationally or prefer a physical card. Ask your HR department whether this applies to you.
Your PIN code (Employee)
Your Travel Card has a personal PIN code that may be required for certain payments. You can reset it at any time in the Figo app — go to Settings and tap Reset Travel Card PIN. You will receive a verification code by SMS to confirm your identity before setting a new PIN.
Spending limits & daily budget (Both)
Your organisation sets a daily spending limit for the TravelCard. Employees cannot exceed this limit. Admins can configure limits at organisation, department, or individual employee level.
Employees: if your card is declined, it may be because the daily limit has been reached. Contact Figo for more information.
Auto top-up via Sweep (Admin)
A sweep is an automatic top-up from your organization's bank account to the balance account of your TravelCard, the pool of funds from which all TravelCard transactions are paid. The money in the balance account remains yours; a sweep is an internal transfer, not a cost.
Two settings control sweeps:
Threshold: when the balance drops below this amount, a sweep is triggered.
Sweep amount: the fixed amount transferred per sweep.
Example — threshold €5000, sweep amount €10.000:
Balance drops below €5000 → €10.000 is transferred.
New transactions are made and balans drops again below €5000 → €10.000 is transferred.
This repeats until the balance is again below the threshold.
Adjusting your auto Top-up settings
Change the threshold and sweep amount any time via dashboard.figo.app/settings/travel-card. Need advice on the right setup? Our team is happy to help.
Configuring access per employee or department (Admin)
Changes to card settings are pushed directly to the employee's digital card — typically within seconds. You can enable or disable the TravelCard per employee, or set it as the default for the entire organisation. Access can be configured at three levels:
Organisation level — one default setting for all employees
Department level — specific settings per team
Employee level — tailored settings per individual
Practical examples:
A colleague needs to travel abroad unexpectedly, enable international travel with one click
An employee lost their NS Business Card, temporarily enable OV access via the TravelCard
A department should only use public transport, disable taxis and fuel in seconds
When an employee leaves the organisation, access can be revoked in real time from the Dashboard.
Enabling the TravelCard for your organisation (Admin)
Go to Settings → Mobility products in the Dashboard and enable the TravelCard. Once enabled, you need to be approved by a Know Your Business check an one can issue cards to employees and configure spending rules. Contact your Figo account manager if you need help with the initial setup.
Note: It can sometimes happen that a payment is declined. The most common reasons are:
As an employee, you don't have access to this type of purchase, or your available balance isn't sufficient for various reasons. For example, you may have exceeded your daily limit or your organisation's limit, which prevents the payment from going through. In case of questions, feel free to reach out to support@figo.app.
