Associating security roles with a user is the main method for controlling and managing user access to screens within the Equus Platform; user security maintenance controls which assignments a user can see.

The security role determines what type of access is provided, e.g. view, edit, add, delete etc. Users may be allocated multiple roles, allowing clients to 'layer' their security levels. Security roles are configured within the Role Maintenance screen and can be heavily customized to meet specific requirements.

Equus Platform ships with several pre-configured security roles that generally cover the most popular client requirements.

The following roles are ready customized in the Equus Platform and can be viewed and edited from the Security Roles screen by clicking on the pencil icon.

  • Administrator

  • Assignment Coordinator

  • Payroll Portal User

  • Portal Client

  • Vendor

The pre-configured security roles can be edited to meet client needs. Navigate to the Security Roles screen, to edit an existing security role by clicking on the pencil icon or to add a new security role, by clicking on the + icon.

There are some pre-configured security roles that are customized in the Equus Platform which do not appear in the Security Roles grid. Click on the security roles for more details about the role and where they are used in the system.
