Who is responsible for PPWR compliance when selling through elasticStage?
If you’re a creator selling vinyl records or CDs through elasticStage, we’re responsible for Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) compliance for orders placed through our platform, including orders shipped to customers in the European Union (EU).
Do I need to manage PPWR compliance myself?
No. For orders placed directly through elasticStage, you don’t need to manage packaging compliance separately.
Our packaging is compliant with applicable requirements, and we hold written, signed compliance declarations from our packaging suppliers.
This means you can focus on creating and promoting your releases while we handle the packaging compliance responsibilities for orders made through our platform.
What packaging materials does elasticStage use?
We use high-quality packaging materials designed to protect your releases while supporting responsible sourcing.
Every elasticStage vinyl release includes:
Outer Sleeve: 290gsm paperboard with a 3mm spine.
Inner Sleeve: 170gsm paper.
Optional Add-On: 12-page booklet.
All vinyl records are also shrink-wrapped in protective film to help prevent damage during handling and shipping.
Is elasticStage’s packaging sustainably sourced?
Yes! We’re committed to using responsibly sourced materials wherever possible.
All paperboard used across our vinyl sleeves, CD Softpacks, and booklets is fully coated bleached board with a coated reverse.
Our paperboard suppliers hold the following certifications:
FSC® (02-31-92) Chain of Custody certification
PEFC™ (C001580) Chain of Custody certification
These certifications support responsible forest management and provide traceability for materials sourced from certified supply chains.
By using certified paperboard and maintaining packaging compliance documentation, we aim to minimise our environmental impact while ensuring your releases are professionally presented and protected.
Does elasticStage comply with UK Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations?
Yes! We monitor our packaging usage and obligations under UK Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.
Currently, elasticStage falls below the applicable UK EPR reporting threshold, so we’re not required to report packaging data or pay EPR fees under the current requirements.
Does elasticStage manage EU Product Identifier (PID) requirements?
Yes! From 1st November 2026, new EU customs requirements are expected to introduce mandatory Product Identifiers (PIDs) for eCommerce goods imported into the EU.
As the manufacturer and seller of products ordered through our platform, elasticStage manages the relevant product identification information and customs documentation.
Creators don’t need to manage these requirements separately for orders placed directly through elasticStage.
