12" Vinyl Record Format
Every elasticStage vinyl release is manufactured to the following specifications:
Format: 12" single disc
Speed: 33⅓ RPM
Material: ~140g black PETG
Sides: A & B - minimum one track per side
Tracks: 1–8 tracks per side
Duration: 2–23 minutes per side
Minimum track length: 10 seconds
Vinyl colour: Black
This configuration ensures reliable playback, strong audio performance, and consistent manufacturing quality.
Why We Use 140g PETG Instead of 180g PVC
Many traditional vinyl pressings promote 180g records as “premium.” In reality, heavier vinyl does not improve sound quality.
We manufacture our records using approximately 140g black PETG, which:
Delivers excellent durability and playback performance
Requires less energy to produce than PVC
Is easier to recycle
Avoids harmful chlorine-based materials used in PVC production
The result is a record that sounds great while reducing environmental impact.
