How to delete your account

You can delete your account at any time. This action is permanent and will remove your ride history, payment methods, and personal data.

📲 Option 1: Self-Service (In-App)

The fastest way to close your account is directly through the app:

  1. Tap on your Profile/Account icon.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and select "Delete Account."

  3. Follow the prompts to confirm your decision.

📧 Option 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app or the "Delete" button is not visible:

  • Send an Email: Contact support@donkeyrepublic.com.

  • Requirement: You must send this request from the email address associated with your account.

  • Reason: This verifies your identity and ensures compliance with GDPR and privacy regulations. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.

⚠️ Why can’t I delete my account?

You will be unable to delete your account if any of the following are active:

  • Ongoing Rentals: You must end all active trips first.

  • Outstanding Payments: Any unpaid invoices or pending membership fees must be settled.

  • Missing Bikes: If a bike you recently used is not yet accounted for or locked at a hub, the account must remain open for liability purposes.

  • Pending Penalties: Relocation fees or fines must be paid in full.
