This covers the Component Options & Rules section.
Prerequisites
You can use Main Project Data and change a component's state.
Steps
Exchange components
1.) Exchange a component from the DigiPara library. Double-click the component, or use the Properties docking window. For the following chapter, exchange the rail bracket for a Rail bracket for concrete fixing. (For basics, see A1 – DigiPara Liftdesigner Fundamentals.)
Product options
2.) Understand product options. Some BIM components — for example rail brackets, traction machines, gear frames, and car frames — offer product options by default. A product option simply switches one or more profiles on or off.
3.) Enable or disable a product option. Add or remove the check mark in the Properties docking window — for example, switch off the bracket wall fixing profiles (the short profiles outwards left and right). Manufacturer-independent components can have many options; others have few or none, depending on how they were developed.
Options and Rules docking window and component rules
4.) Open the Options and Rules docking window. Activate it via the Start tab. It's useful for Liftdesigner users, not only for component developers. Common components are manufacturer-neutral and generally have no rules.
5.) Deactivate or reactivate a component rule. Use the check mark. Specific rules are often found on manufacturer products from the DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud and can be the reason a standard Liftdesigner function behaves differently or can't be executed. Only the manufacturer or developer may change rules and save them permanently in the database.
Pitfall: Deactivating a component rule is at your own risk.
Result
You can exchange components from the library, switch product options on or off, and view, deactivate, or reactivate component rules — knowing the risks of overriding a manufacturer's rules.
